Stopgull Spreaders

StopGull Spreaders is a neat solution to prevent seagulls, cormorants and other birds from perching on your spreaders. There is nothing worse tan arriving at your boat to find it covered in bird droppings, which if left unattended can have serious effects on decks, canvas and aluminium masts.

StopGull Spreaders consists of a tensioned wire running from the mast to the shroud along the length of the spreader. Thus, birds are unable to land on the spreader.

StopGull Spreaders is supplied as a kit. You will need 1 x StopGull Spreaders kit per spreader (to cover both sides of the spreader). Kit includes:

• 2 x 2.5m length of stainless steel cable.
• 2 x shockcord tensioner ending in 2 stainless steel split rings. This piece is made of high-strength nautical rubber and gives StopGull Spreaders the necessary elasticity to counteract the twisting that these parts of the boat suffer.
• 4 x rivets.
• 2 x stainless steel mast saddle.

StopGull Spreaders - Installation Instructions

1. Place the stainless steel mast saddle at between 10 to 15cm (3.93''-5.90'') from the upper part of the spreader.
2. Once installed, pass throuht it one of the rings of shockcord tensioner.
3. Fix the stainless-steel cable to the shroud using the rivet, respecting the height of between 10 to 15cm (3.93''-5.90'') from the upper part of the spreader.
4. Slightly tighten the stainless-steel cable, to the shockcord tensione, using the double tube rivets for its final fixation.
