BB-BoxClip-50s - Full Compatibility with Major Solar Panel Systems
The design of solar panel frames with a tab or lower edge was practically the only standard among major panel manufacturers until 2021. However, since then, innovations in solar panel designs have been introduced, evolving from tabbed frames to slotted profiles for the short edges of the panels.
BirdBlocker has responded to this evolution with the launch of the BB-BoxClip-50s accessory, thus ensuring the compatibility of its systems with a variety of panel sizes, adapting to new design trends in the industry.
BB-BoxClip-50s - Available Models
BB-BoxClip-50s is available in two heights: 30 mm and 35 mm. Each height is offered in two widths covering from 8 to 13 mm, or from 14 to 18 mm. The technical sheet of your solar panel indicates the dimensions required for your panel frame.
Choose your BB-BoxClip-50s from one of the four available models, based on size:
- 30 mm x 14-18 mm wide
- 35 mm x 14-18 mm wide
- 30 mm x 8-13 mm wide
- 35 mm x 8-13 mm wide
How many clips do I need?
Each BB-BoxClip-50s pack includes 50 clips.
These additional clips are used only on the short sides of solar panels when the frame design requires them. For the other sides of the panel, the standard clips supplied by default with the BirdBlocker system are used.
As a reference, you will need approximately 8 clips per linear metre on the short sides where this accessory needs to be installed. Therefore, one pack of 50 clips covers approximately 6 linear metres of short sides.
The exact number of clips may vary slightly depending on the type of panel, the spacing between fixing points and the conditions of the installation. Before placing your order, calculate only the linear metres you need to protect on the short sides of the panels and multiply them by 8 to estimate the number of BB-BoxClip-50s clips required.
Example:
If you need to protect 6 linear metres on the short sides of the panels, you will need approximately 48 clips, so one pack of 50 clips would be sufficient.
If you need to protect 12 linear metres on the short sides of the panels, you will need approximately 96 clips, so you should purchase 2 packs of 50 clips.
