ByeBirds Bird Repellent Gel – 400 g Cartridge
ByeBirds Bird Repellent Gel is an anti-perching solution designed to prevent pigeons, seagulls, sparrows, starlings, swallows and other birds from perching or nesting in specific areas of buildings, homes, warehouses, terraces, roofs, ledges, façades, windowsills, railings and covered structures.
Its formula works mainly through smell and touch, creating an unpleasant sensation for birds when they try to land on the treated area. This helps discourage them from returning to the site and reduces dirt, droppings, bad odours and hygiene problems associated with their presence.
ByeBirds is formulated with active ingredients of natural origin, such as natural spearmint oil and natural lavender oil. The product does not contain substances of potential concern. Its handling and intended use do not require personal protective equipment.
How does ByeBirds work?
ByeBirds does not act as a rigid physical barrier, but as a sensory anti-perching repellent.
When a bird tries to land on the treated surface, it comes into contact with the gel and perceives an uncomfortable sensation on its feet. The texture of the product makes it difficult for the bird to perch normally, causing it to lose stability or feel unsafe in that spot.
In addition, the smell of the product reinforces the deterrent effect. ByeBirds is designed to act on birds’ behavioural and nesting patterns, helping them stop considering the treated area as a suitable place to perch, rest or build nests.
The aim is not to harm the bird, but to encourage it to gradually leave that area and find another place to perch.

Where can it be applied?
ByeBirds Bird Repellent Gel can be used outdoors, such as on balconies, terraces, ledges, roofs, windowsills, façades, railings, projections, signs, billboards, bridges, monuments and churches, as well as indoors or on covered structures, such as car parks, stations, bus stops, airports, warehouses, factories, stadiums and covered areas where birds perch or nest.
It is especially recommended for specific points where birds are already used to perching, resting or building nests.
Important: in the case of protected species or active nests, no nest should be removed and no action should be taken in the area without first checking the applicable regulations. ByeBirds should be used as a preventive measure or once the area can legally be treated.
What birds is it suitable for?
ByeBirds can be used to deter small and medium-sized birds such as pigeons, seagulls, sparrows, starlings, swallows, magpies and parakeets.
For larger birds, such as seagulls or crows, it may be necessary to apply more product per point or reduce the distance between applications to ensure that the bird comes into contact with the gel when trying to perch.
Natural composition
ByeBirds is formulated with active ingredients of natural origin:
- Natural spearmint oil.
- Natural lavender oil.
The product does not contain substances of potential concern. Its handling and intended use do not require personal protective equipment.
Yield of the 400 g cartridge
ByeBirds is supplied in a 400 g silver-coloured cartridge.
Each cartridge provides approximately:
- 20 applications of 20 g.
- Between 4 and 6 linear metres when applied on dishes, depending on the distance between application points.
The actual yield may vary depending on the level of infestation, the distance between applications, the amount of gel used and the width of the surface you want to protect.
How to apply ByeBirds Gel
ByeBirds can be applied in two ways: on application dishes or directly in a line on the area to be protected.
Application with dishes
The dishes allow the product to be applied in a cleaner, more organised and more controlled way, especially on surfaces where you do not want to place the gel directly.
To apply ByeBirds with dishes:
- Thoroughly clean the surface where the product will be placed.
- Make sure the area is dry before installation.
- Fix the dishes to the surface with silicone or polyurethane.
- Apply approximately 20 g of ByeBirds inside each dish.
- Place the dishes in a straight line, respecting the recommended distance according to the severity of the problem.
- If the problem is severe or the surface is very wide, install a second line of dishes.
Do not install the product on rainy days, as moisture may affect the correct adhesion of the silicone or polyurethane.
Direct line application
ByeBirds can also be applied directly onto the surface, forming a continuous line of approximately 1 cm thick.
This type of application is especially recommended for sparrows, where it is advisable to apply the gel in a continuous straight line rather than using dishes.
Line application can also be useful on ledges, projections, beams, narrow structures or areas where birds always perch along a specific line.
If the surface is very wide, apply several parallel lines of gel, leaving enough separation to cover the area correctly. The key point is that the bird must always touch the gel when trying to perch. If it can land on the surface without coming into contact with the product, the application may not be sufficient.
Before applying ByeBirds, carefully observe where the birds perch and make sure you cover the exact support points.
Installation tips
For ByeBirds Bird Repellent Gel to work correctly, the most important thing is to place it exactly where birds perch, rest or have built nests. The aim is that, when they try to return to that area, they come into contact with the gel and stop considering it a comfortable or safe place.
Before installing the product, clean the surface and remove any remains of nests, droppings or dirt. The area must be dry to ensure good fixation, especially if you are using dishes attached with silicone or polyurethane.
In general, the distance between dishes should not be greater than the wingspan of the bird you want to deter. If the bird can perch between two points without touching the gel, the installation may not be sufficient. On wide surfaces or in areas with high bird pressure, it may be necessary to apply two or more parallel lines of ByeBirds.
For larger birds, such as seagulls or crows, it is advisable to apply more product per point, usually more than 30 g per container, and reduce the distance between applications.
If birds are still present in the treated area after two weeks, add more product to the affected points or reinforce the installation with more dishes or gel lines. This usually means that the amount applied is not sufficient or that the birds can still perch without touching the product.
Do not install the product on rainy days or on wet surfaces, as moisture may affect the fixation of the silicone or polyurethane and cause the dishes to detach.
Recommended distance between applications
The distance between application points depends on the level of bird pressure and whether the area is used for nesting, resting or occasional perching.
| Type of area |
Recommended dose |
Recommended distance between dishes |
| Area where there were nests |
20-30 g per dish |
5-10 cm |
| High-pressure problem: nesting or night-roosting areas |
20-25 g per dish |
15 cm |
| Medium-pressure problem: daytime perching, resting or feeding areas |
20 g per dish |
20 cm |
| Low-pressure problem: occasional perching areas or new resting areas |
20 g per dish |
25-30 cm |
Each installation must be assessed according to the bird species, the number of birds, the width of the surface and the building conditions. As a general rule, the more serious the problem, the more product and the shorter the distance between applications you will need.
Direct application for sparrows and narrow surfaces
To deter sparrows or protect narrow areas where birds perch in a line, you can apply ByeBirds directly onto the surface, forming a continuous line of approximately 1 cm thick.
If the surface is wide, apply several parallel lines. The key point is that the bird must always touch the gel when trying to perch. If it can place its feet on an area free of product, the application will need to be reinforced.
Note about product loss
Birds do not eat ByeBirds Bird Repellent Gel. If you see that product is missing from the dishes, this is usually because birds have carried away a small amount on their feet, feathers or beak after coming into contact with the gel. In that case, refill the affected dishes and check whether the area should be reinforced with more application points.
Pack of 20 dishes for ByeBirds Gel
For a cleaner and more precise application, you can use the Pack of 20 dishes for ByeBirds Gel.
The dishes allow the gel to be placed in an organised way, help control the amount applied and prevent direct contact between the product and certain surfaces. Simply fix each dish with silicone or polyurethane and apply the gel inside.
They are designed to withstand different temperature conditions and adapt to different types of installation. They feature UV protection, central holes for fixing with silicone and outer holes to help drain water.
They are especially useful on ledges, windowsills, railings, beams, projections and other areas where you want to carry out a point-by-point installation.
Product durability
ByeBirds offers long-lasting protection: more than 2 years outdoors and between 5 and 7 years indoors.
The product is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, long periods of sun, rain, cold, dust and dirt.
It does not require fixed periodic reapplication. If birds remain in the treated area after two weeks, add more product to the affected points or reinforce the installation with more gel lines or more dishes. This usually means that the amount applied is not sufficient or that the birds can still perch without touching the product.
Recommendations for use
- Apply ByeBirds exactly where birds perch or nest.
- First clean away any droppings, nests or dirt.
- Do not install the dishes on wet surfaces.
